Registration Information
Nevis To St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim
General Information
The swim distance is 2.5miles (4km) and starts from Oualie Beach on Nevis at 8.00am across the 'Narrows' to finish at Cockleshell Beach on St Kitts. The 2017 swim will be the 15th annual Bente Weber Memorial Swim and it continues to offer both a race and a challenge to open water swim enthusiasts and adventurers alike. They will take on the best open ocean swimmers in the region and the world.
In 2014 the event saw a record number of finishers (184) and in 2011 the current course record was set by Olivier Marceau in a time of 58:09, and still stands today, the attempt at the record this year 2016 was marred by a course change due to bad weather and safety concerns.
One of the attractions of this event is that it is not only a race but also a challenge, so for those not so fast or competent swimmers please feel free to use fins or a snorkel mask to get you across the beautiful 'Narrows'.
This year we will partner with the St Kitts & Nevis Special Olympics Group to raise awareness and funds for this important sporting project.
There are two Event Categories:
RACING
Competition Class: only regulation swimwear and goggles allowed,
ASSISTED
Challenge category: for those persons wishing to use fins, snorkels, masks, wetsuits, and/or flippers, (non prize category).
